Weather Activity Trays for Kindergarten and First Graders
Tuesday, August 27, 2019
In this 12 Months of Montessori, I want to feature our Weather Activity Trays for Autumn/Fall. Change of season is always exciting and it is just right that we do some weather studies before the new season arrives.

Kids are always fascinated with the weather as this is something that they have experienced. Just by going outside and observing the sky, you can talk to your child about the weather, is it sunny? rainy? cloudy? windy? Sometimes they also get to watch this on TV or on the weather forecast news. Thus they become familiar with some words. To expand your child's curiosity about the weather and advance his/her knowledge, here are some activities that you might want to try.

Insect Themed Lesson Plans for Kindergarten to First Grade
Monday, August 12, 2019
We are about to conclude our INSECT UNIT which we have been working on for the past two weeks and I am so happy to finally share the lesson plan that I made for my Kindergarten. Now, though this is designed for my almost 6 year old boy, this unit study is also appropriate for kids from 5 years and older. We have done tons of identification and sensorial activities previously on this subject area and this year, we’re doing some advanced work.
Safari Toob Theme Teaching Resources
Wednesday, August 7, 2019
I am so excited to bring to you 16+ activity learning packs to go along with your favorite Safari Toob educational toys. As you all know, we've been collecting these animal figure sets for a decade now and has been a helpful learning tool in our homeschool journey. With my experience in homeschooling and designing activities to go along with our toob sets, I decided to publish the printables I made for these toys. With these printable packs, you and your kids can exhaust the use of these animal toobs and go beyond the typical matching activity.
For more details on some of the themed packs you can also check some of the posts below:

Food and Nutrition Themed Shelf

Vito is currently obsessed with our Let's Read and Find Out Series. I've started reading the level 1 series to him since April and he's hooked into it. There are tons of books in the level 1 series that he's currently obsessed with but one book stands out, What's for Lunch. The book introduces the basic food groups to children. I was totally surprised about his interest in this subject area. He's becoming curious of what he eats lately and drinking more milk than usual.

Food Pyramid and Food Groups Activities for Kids
Monday, June 17, 2019
Vito loves the book, What's for Lunch?! He loves learning all about the food groups, on what food will help him have stronger bones and teeth, food that will give him energy, and food that will keep him healthy. I love that he developed this interest early on. I think that it's important to educate little ones about healthy food because right now, he's super conscious on what he eats, and he's more eager to eat fruits, drink lots of milk and water!
Come take a look at some of the learning activities that we worked on to support his interest on food.
Introducing the 6 Kingdoms of Life
Friday, May 17, 2019
Months ago, after watching an episode of Brainchild on Netflix, the boys got super interested with knowing more about bacteria. They have so many questions about the biodiversity of life such as, if a bacteria is an animal or a plant? is it an alien species? The curiosity and eagerness to learn led me to introduce the Six Kingdoms of Life.

I know, this is elementary work, but I managed to pull-out activities that worked perfectly for both boys (10 and 5 years old).

Life Cycle of a Frog Learning Activities
Friday, March 29, 2019
Nothing beats hands-on learning, but because we have no access to tadpoles and frogs, we just rely on books, educational toys and create meaningful materials to achieve the "hands-on experience". With the success of our Water Cycle activities, I made a similar learning pack for our frog life cycle. The learning pack is perfect for kids ages 4 to 7 years old, something that will grow with your child through the years. It contains different activities for different stages of learning for the child. All you needed to do is print the one that suits your needs.

Learning About Sharks for Kids
Tuesday, February 19, 2019
Vito has been really interested in sharks lately. We had some Shark Unit Study (Montessori Inspired Shark Study for Kids) years ago together with my eldest, but Vito was so young then that all he could ever do was do some simple matching activity with our Safari Toob Sharks. Now that he's a bit older, I prepared some simple activities for him to learn more about sharks, what's their difference with whales, and how similar are they to humans.
Fun Thermometer Reading in Space
Thursday, November 1, 2018
Vito loved our penguin thermometer reading activity , and because of this, I have to include something similar in our Outerspace Preschool Mini Unit. This is great for learning how to recognize “tens” and how to read a thermometer.

Life Cycle of Apples for Preschoolers
Sunday, September 9, 2018
Autumn time is apple season and the perfect time to learn about them! We started our "apple" week last Monday, and today, Vito and I just finished learning where apples came from. I was so inspired by our Water Cycle activity (Vito loved this activity so much!) that I decided to do the same approach with our Apple study.

Dinosaur Excavation Activity
Tuesday, April 10, 2018
I have a spare dinosaur excavation kit which I kept for years, waiting for Vito to be old enough to work on it. Well, that time finally arrived and I gave it to him so he’ll experience what it’s like to be an archaeologist, even for a day. Here’s a pretend play of how scientists are able to put up dinosaur bones in the museums!

Animal Kingdom 3 Part Cards and Charts
Thursday, March 8, 2018
I am so excited to share these beautiful learning materials I created for my boys. Mavi, my 9 year old is currently the one using this for school, but Vito ended up using some of the activities as he loves to work on his older brother’s materials too. So this is our Animal Kingdom Cards and Charts set. The main objective of this material is to introduce the different classifications/groups of animals to your child. We have an older version of this, and you can check it out here (Kingdoms of Life: Animal Kingdom) if you are interested. Anyway, allow me to discuss some of the highlights of this learning material below, so you can have a better idea of what you will be getting when you purchase this for your child or your school.

Hands-on Learning on the Human Body for Preschoolers
Sunday, February 18, 2018
Vito is getting more interested in how his body works, especially that a few months ago, he got sick and I have to discuss some important things to him about his health and body. With this, I started reading to him some of our body books, explaining what happens to the food that he eats, to the water that he drinks, and why he has blood when he has a cut.
Montessori Inspired Space Themed Learning Activities
Saturday, February 10, 2018
This week, we are shifting our focus as Vito’s interest is increasingly directed toward his body and senses. In the past few weeks, we have been exploring topics related to the moon, planets, and space. Below is a summary of our activities related to the solar system and space, presented in no particular order.
