Creating Shapes with Geomag

Vito is 29 months old.

Have you heard of Geomag? We have this for years now but kept it because Vito used to mouth things. Now that he’s outgrown that behavior, I finally took it out and since then the boys had been using these magnets to create shapes and structures!

The purpose of learning magnets is to show to Vito that we can create shapes by connecting magnetic bars!  So in this activity, we were making different kinds of shapes (with corners) like what you’ve seen in the photo: squares, rectangles and triangles.  He loves the magnetic effect of these bars!

Later on, we moved to making 3D shapes by making structures like houses and a toy! Mavi made Vito a spinning top and he loves it!

Once done playing with his top, he moved back to the table again and started to stack the magnetic bars.  He’s experimenting whether he can stack them without falling apart just like his blocks.  He was fascinated!

I highly recommend this material. I suggest you buy one set at first, just trying to test the water whether your kids will love it or not.  I just bought one set of 30+pcs at first so Mavi and I can create 3D shapes but later I added more because Mavi wanted to build structures like bridges and buildings. They come in different bright colours!  I am sure your kids will love them!
