Fun Dinosaur Color Sorting with Homemade Playdough Recipe

How cute is this? Vito is currently obsessed with colour sorting and playdough so I'm using this obsession to my advantage.  I made playdoughs of rainbow colors and used them in our color sorting activity with our Learning Resources Dinosaur Counters and they turned out so festive and Vito played with them non-stop!


I made these doughs the night before in less than 20 minutes.  They’re so easy to make!  Here’s the recipe I followed:

• 8 tsp of salt
• 1/2 cup of flour
• 1/2 cup of water
• 1 and 1/2 tsp of vegetable oil
• 1 tsp cream of tartar
• food coloring

Mix everything altogether, cook it in a nonstick pan (medium heat), stir until it looks like these!  I am using Wilton gel food coloring because I love its vibrant colors, but any food coloring will do.


And if you’re not into cooking doughs, there’s always the commercial Play-Doh which the boys love as well!
