Advent at Home

How do you observe Advent?  We are doing Jesse Tree (more on this later) and Advent candles at home.  Each Sunday of Advent, the boys and I would light up a candle in our Nativity.  These are beeswax candles that Vito made and used it together with our candle stand from Grimm’s.  He totally enjoys this simple tradition!

In the point of view of the kids, they get to have an idea of how long do they have to wait till Christmas.  Vito is always looking forward in lighting the candle on Sundays after we hear mass.   We are also doing Jesse Tree this year, it a Christian tradition of reading passages/stories in the Bible each day to trace the lineage of Jesus.  It’s beautiful and I’m going to talk about it soon!

Our Mary, Joseph, infant Jesus and St. Nicholas was from Ostheimer.  You can purchase the entire set here or get them separately.
