An overdue post due to lots of work.
Color mixing
With the use of medicine dropper and food coloring. He attempted to paint a car (left picture) using the his mixes.
Pink Series
We’ve been doing this almost every day. Currently we’re doing the ‘objects and moveable letters’ and ‘objects and cards’. Next week we’ll be doing the abstract version, that’s using picture cards instead of objects. After which we also work on the worksheets for the Pink Series: beginning and ending sounds.
Since I don’t have a printer, I just wrote these beginning and ending letters on a cardstock, covered it with a contact paper (I don’t own a laminator) and made him use a dry erase pen. This way, we can always reuse our worksheets.
In case you want to know, here are objects for the Pink Series.
Math
We learned about time and how to read it. See my post here.
Then also had Addition for our Math. The concept here is similar to that of Montessori’s Addition Strip Board but instead we used blue and red bear counters. I plant to make another set using printed materials whenever my son progresses fromthis.
Painting
We do this almost everyday. He also request for his paints until we ran out of it :(
Botany: PLANTS AND FLOWERS
This week, we jumpstart our Plants and Flowers activities. Read about it here.

Homeschool Wrap-Up (12.5 – 12.9)
Tuesday, December 13, 2011
It’s so difficult these days to keep up with blogging! Since I still work (at home) I always procrastinate updating my blog and would rather playing with the little one.
Here are the things we did last week.
Instead of doing Advent Calendar, we made letter crafts for our Christmas Countdown. I talked about it here.
We talked about polar bears. This Usborne Beginner’s book has wonderful book about polar bears. It’s been my son’s favorite since I got it for him.
I also made control cards based on our Arctic Toob for matching game.
For math, I downloaded these penguins activity cards from Making Learning Fun. Here, Mavi is learning how to measure the temperature by reading the thermometer:) On the other picture, Mavi is practicing his learning skills by feeding the penguins with “candies”.
He worked on his number puzzle.
We also did some patterning activities using printables from 2 Teaching Mommies.
Aside from reading books and learning to read words using this, we also worked on our Alpha Phonics Boxes... by sorting objects starting with letters ‘dejyjkwvz’.

Grid game using chicken grids which I downloaded from the net. I had this for a long time and I totally forgot the link!
CVC word recognition using stamping game.
Skip counting using stamping game.
I laid out a roll of paper on the floor and made him connect the numbers :) Something to keep him busy for an hour. Here he is figuring out how he can connect all the the numbers hehehe. I love to see him concentrate!
My son currently undergoing a phase of being obsessed with writing numbers and letters.
SCIENCE.
We studied the life cycle of a chicken.
And the parts of the bird.
OTHERS
Practice coloring using do-a-dot markers.
Learning how to write words. Can you see the word CARROT? He prefers writing in uppercase letters.
