Following your child means having this transportation/vehicle unit for almost a month! Max is really obsessed with vehicles: firetrucks, dump trucks, bus, police car etc. He loves loves playing with his truck toys every day, and even dreams about these vehicles! So if you have a child who's obsessed is into these, this is a post that's definitely for you!
Today, I'm sharing some fun learning activities for toddlers who's into community vehicles and I hope you enjoy our freebie!
Vehicles 3 Part Cards
Max knows all these vehicles even before doing the 3-part cards because we have read a lot of books already. So this is simply a matching activity for him, as he's not reading yet.

Color Sorting
Max loves identifying colors and I just have to add this coloring sorting activity. We either sort the Learning Resources Vehicles using Montessori Color Tablets Set 2 or using sorting bowls.
2 Piece Puzzle
This is one of his favourite puzzles. He love displaying this in a basket from Maple and Lark so he can easily access and work on it anytime.
Road Shapes!
I just added this work because he loves naming shapes, but this is not really a favourite of his. Please excuse the printout, my printer conked out.
Bubble band Activity
Not vehicle related, but Max has been into this activity so I'm sharing how I set-up mine. I use those book/plate holders and got these jumbo elastic bands for him to work on. These jumbo soft bands are super safe for toddlers compared to the ordinary elastic bands.
On the Road, In the Water and Sky
He absolutely loves this sorting activity. I think the real images of the backdrop helped a his attracting his attention. He enjoys putting in his toy figures int he pictures.
Vehicle Toys
Max has been into trucks and cars since he was a year old so I've been getting him different toys to ignite his imagination. These days he's all about imaginative play using his toy cars. Our collection varies, from Green Toys bus, garbage truck and firetruck to Little People Community Vehicles. We also own a few Duplo pieces and he loves building his train/trucks with it.
Books
These are the books that we have so far. I have had these for ages now, and Max loves reading it with me. I plan to get the Tractor and Boat soon to add to our My First Discovery book collection.
