First I made Mavi plot the landmark figures (Safari Toob World Landmarks and Around the World Toob) into our Montessori Continent Puzzle. There were a few figures he’s not quite familiar with like the Easter Island Statue, Mount Rushmore, Parthenon and the Burj Al Arab. Note that the figure of Burj Al Arab was given to me as a gift from a friend who works in Dubai.

Next, I took out our landmark cards. It’s the 3 part cards of the landmarks from my shop and I only made him use the pictures and label cards. The main objective here is to match the figures to the picture cards and identify the names of the structures.

Here’s a closer look of the cards. I printed them on a heavy weight paper and laminated them. He was happy to see the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty!

He asked if we can see Mount Rushmore if ever we go back to the US. See the Burj Al Arab figure? It’s so beautiful!

Okay, so here’s how they look like. I made the description cards as well, punched a hole in them and binded them altogether for reading purposes.

It was a fantastic opportunity to review his geography! I’ll be giving him some activity sheets to follow-up on this hands-on activity.
