I am so happy to share our Zoo Preschool Literacy and Preschool Math Learning Materials with you. Like our popular Ocean Unit Preschool Learning Materials, our Zoo Unit also contains 30 fantastic and engaging learning activities that your little ones will definitely love!  Below are some of the activities that Vito worked on early this month to give you an idea of what learning activities can be done with these unique materials.

Here’s what to expect from our Zoo Unit Preschool Learning Materials.

## ANIMAL EMOTIONS MATCHING GAME

This is one of my kids’ favourite activities.  The child will match the animals' faces (emotions) to the animal emotions mat.  There are 7 animal emotions to play around with within this printable pack, so I am totally sure that your kids will love this.

## FOLLOW THE PATTERN LOGIC GAME

The objective of this learning game is to follow the pattern in the card using some popsicle sticks.  My kids used our Grimm’s Leonardo Sticks in this activity.  My little boy loves selecting the hard ones!

Here’s my eldest trying out a pattern.

This logic game is entertaining and engaging!  Get it here!

## ANIMAL TRAIN COLOR MATCHING ACTIVITY

We used our Safari Animals Colored Counters in this activity.  I made these rainbow trains so that the child can play with and match colours simultaneously.  If coloured zoo animal figures are not available, a printable version of coloured animals is included in the learning material.

## HOW TALL IS THE GIRAFFE? A MEASURING ACTIVITY

Using the snap cubes, the child will measure how tall the giraffes are.  After this activity, we compared the length of our snap cubes and identified which one was the shortest and which one was the tallest.  Vito then arranged the giraffes according to their height with the use of our snap cubes.

## I SPY COUNTING GAME

This is a counting practice using animals from Safari Wild Toobs.

## FEED THE MONKEY: ALPHABET AND SOUND MATCHING ACTIVITY

This activity aims to match the uppercase letters to the lowercase letters.  As an extension, you can also pretend to feed the monkeys with apples containing pictures with the alphabet's beginning sounds, as shown in the image.

## CVC RHYMES

This activity has always been a challenge for Vito, so I love to include this in our units.  You can start by naming the pictures and identifying which one rhymes with the first picture.  We used magnetic pegs in this activity, but any manipulative will do.

## PEACOCK FEATHER COUNTING

Place the correct number of feathers (you can use the printable version, real crafts feather or playdough) with the corresponding peacock picture.

## GORILLA BANANA SHAPE MATCHING ACTIVITY

Match the shape of the bananas to the mouth of the gorilla (who’s, by the way, very hungry!)

## FLAMINGO SHAPES

Practice identifying shapes and creating them using playdough with our flamingo shape mats! Like what we have in the Ocean Unit, Vito loves using playdough to form shapes with these beautiful mats.

These and more (30 activities) are in our Zoo Preschool Learning Pack.
