Materials we used:
- Preschool Apple Life Cycle Printable Activity Set (from my shop)
- How Do Apples Grow?
- Glue or sticky tape
- Scissors
- Coloring materials (LYRA Waldorf Colored Pencils, crayons)
- Apples!
- Beleduc Life Cycle Layered Puzzle (optional)
Then I showed him a poster of the life cycle (shown in the picture above) and asked him if we can make a bigger version of it and hang it in our door. He happily said yes, and I showed him the materials that we have and what we’re going to do with them.
I initially cut out the stages cards and laminated them so we can reuse them again in the future. Here Vito was pasting the stages in an A3 red cardstock paper and was using the poster included in the learning pack as a guide.
This is a better looking “poster” compared to his water cycle LOL and he also did the part of drawing the arrows.
Next, we worked on the simpler life cycle chart and started coloring the activity sheets. Again we talked about the life cycle using this simple chart. He loved the part of the apple tree having flowers. With the help of some insects like bees, these flowers turned into apples in autumn time.
Color, cut, and glueing / sticking. This is the work cycle that he loves to do at the moment.
He knew that he will stick the stages into our mat cause it has to be the exact replica of the poster (guide). He didn’t want to use the glue and used this masking tape instead. After completing his work, he commented that it looks like his apples have plasters.
And to conclude our activity, we played with this beautiful apple life cycle Beleduc layered puzzle which I purchased from Amazon many years ago.
And that's about it! Simple hands-on activity on learning where apples came from and if you want to know more about our learning pack, you can click here or click the image below for more details. Enjoy!
