The Perfect Moon Sand (Cloud Dough) Recipe

Thursday, March 31, 2016

Dear friends, I’m very busy and I don’t have an easy access to products that are sometimes required to create a dough or a slime.  So when I discovered this 2-ingredient cloud dough from Happy Hooligans, I was ecstatic!  To make a moon sand or cloud dough, you just need a lot of plain flour and baby oil. That’s just it!  Check the site for the measurements, the outcome was fantastic!

As you can see, the boys attacked the tub right away.  This tub is from Ikea.

When I combined the two ingredients, they didn’t gave me the chance to mix it, so I instructed them that they should mix the flour and oil on their own by mashing them all together.  See those hands? Practice of hand muscles and sensory play at the same time!

I added our Safari Toob Space figures, and Mavi demonstrated to Vito how these figures work when they are in the moon but what happened next?  The astronauts, moon buggy, satellites and spacecraft were all burried now in the moon sand! They burried them, and dug them all at the same.

Here Vito recovered the space shuttle from the sand and made it fly!

And BE WARNED OF THIS.

THIS WILL HAPPEN, I’M 99% SURE, so have your floor cleaner or vaccum ready.

I know, it’s tiring. But this picture is one in a million and I will forever treasure this. Who can’t resist right?

When they were finally settled, I gave Vito a bath, Mavi cleaned/vaccumed the floor (thank God for big brothers!) and  when they’re all dressed up, I was able to take a photo the moon sand with figures on it…. a photo that is blog worthy Smile

Enjoy!
