The puzzle provides symbols and icons that represents each of the season. To be able to assemble the puzzle, we would first sort out the pieces according to seasons. With this, we identified and named each symbol and differentiated whether it belongs to winter, spring, summer, or fall (autumn). Like in the picture below, the puzzle pieces are snowman and ice so we identified that these belong to winter.
Here, the puzzle piece is a leaf and wind, definitely an autumn piece.
This is a chunky puzzle, meaning the pieces are big and easier for smaller hands to handle. The puzzle pieces snap perfectly!
And the best part is that it comes with a bag. You don’t need to worry about the storage because once done with the puzzle and you decide not to display it in your shelf, your child can definitely tidy it up and put everything in the bag. My son loves doing this, as if he is entertained removing the puzzle and one by one putting each piece in the bag.
In line with this topic, I also made an extension activity that will expose Vito to other symbols of each season. This seasons weather sorting material comes with a beautiful mat wherein the child can place the pictures for winter, spring, summer, and autumn (fall). We specifically love doing this activity during the change of season, wherein little by little we get to see the small changes in our surroundings. Last time we used the seasons sorting was in November (autumn to winter), and I cant wait to work on it again with Vito this March as we transition to spring.
