To do this activity, lay out the printed materials on a rug or table, and present it to your child. Explain to them that they will be learning how to read a thermometer, and that the measurements are in the "tens". Your child will read and identify the temperature indicated on the thermometer, and mark their answer with a wooden peg or any other manipulative.
He had fun reading the thermometer and was asking me if the temperature reading was hot or cold.

Vito enjoyed this activity so much that I plan to add more temperature reading extension work in the future, including negative numbers and identifying hot or cold temperatures.
