World Map Jigsaw Puzzle Recommendations

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

We love our Montessori continent map puzzle and world map jigsaw puzzle at home.  Mavi is loving the Europe and Asia map puzzles while Vito is using the continent map puzzle. Though quite big, I love that they are inexpensive and well made.   You can get all of these Montessori puzzles in any Montessori shop, mine was from Absorbent Minds UK and Tower High Learning.  Now, I know some of you don’t have any access to Montessori shops.  And because I’ve been asked a lot on where and what to get as alternative, I decided to come up with a list of world puzzles that I like and I feel suitable for our homeschool in the absence of Montessori puzzles.
GeographyMaps
1. Magnetic World Puzzle
This is a beautiful magnetic puzzle map that comes with a poster. The control of error here is that each continent has a color code.

2.  Beleduc One World Puzzle
This is a hard to find puzzle. If you are in Asia, you can get this via the Bambini Montesori (follow the link).  I’m not sure if this is also available in the US.  This is a really good puzzle, perfect for kids 4 years and above.  I can see that it has similar feature to the Maps book, thus the reason why I like it.

3. Set of 6 GeoPuzzles - World Map Puzzle & Jigsaw Puzzle to Learn Countries of the World - Geography Game for Educational Fun
A popular puzzle map to some Montessori homeschoolers.  This is the best alternative to continent map puzzles of the Montessori (individual continent).  You can purchase a pack of 6, or just choose the continent that you would like to explore.

4.  Montessori World Map, Flags and Stand
I love this! I wanted to purchase this set but found the prices here too steep.  This is not a puzzle though but a fantastic map material not only for introducing continents but flags of the world as well! Check how we used this map with our Flags of the World printable from here.

5.  Melissa & Doug World Map Floor Puzzle, 33 Pcs, 2X3-Feet
A 33 piece floor puzzle that you might want to consider in the absence of Montessori world map jigsaw puzzle.  I love that it has less drawing, making it clear and simple.  This map is ideal for 6 years and older.

6.  GeoPuzzle World - Educational Geography Jigsaw Puzzle (68 pcs)
This is the world map jigsaw puzzle edition of #3 which I’m also planning to get for the boys.

7. Mudpuppy Our World Jumbo Puzzle
Another jumbo square world map jigsaw puzzle that has 25 pieces (about 22” square).  I find this map to be easy on the eyes and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

8.  Continent Puzzle Combo Pack (171 Pieces in 5 Puzzles)
These are tray sized continent map puzzles that’s perfect for those with small spaces.  Landmarks and animals are highlighted in each map puzzle.

9.  Castorland World Map Premium Maxi Jigsaw (40-Piece) by Castorland
Mavi have this in their school. According to him they worked on this map puzzle when they were in kindergarten.  He liked it and highly recommend it.

These are the puzzle maps that I can suggest in the absence of a Montessori continent and world map jigsaw puzzle.  If you have any more suggestions, I would be happy to add it here.
