Wednesday, March 20, 2024

Greetings! I'm excited to share our Ocean Zones and Deep Sea Animals Pack, which I personally created for my kids last year. The pack is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of various ocean layers and increase knowledge about the animals that thrive in the deepest parts of the Earth's ocean. By exploring the world of the deep sea and discovering the amazing animals inhabiting its depths, this pack is a great way to inspire children's curiosity and love for nature. Let's dive into the mesmerizing world of the deep sea and explore the wonders of our ocean!

This incredible pack is perfect for curious young minds of all ages interested in marine life. They will be captivated by the vast array of fascinating creatures featured in this set. The pack is designed to explore the ocean's layers and provides detailed information about each layer. This pack is unique because it includes animals from all ocean layers, even those that inhabit the deepest depths. I conducted extensive research to identify these creatures, and with the help of some of my friends, you'll be able to view them in incredible detail. Get ready to embark on an exciting journey of discovery!

Foods in Europe Montessori Learning Packet

Tuesday, April 25, 2023

I have finally updated my European Foods learning set, first published around 2013. My first publication is limited to 15 foods, with just the Montessori 3-part cards and information cards. Now I featured more foods and added activity sheets for older kids!

This material is a perfect add-on to your Europe continent study. Traditional foods are always linked to customs, indigenous cultures, and territory, so this is an interesting subject for kids when doing social studies.

Saturday, September 11, 2021

How exciting it is to welcome a new season!  As we bid goodbye to summer and celebrate the arrival of the colorful season, what have you been preparing in your school and home school so far?  Around this time of the year, I love preparing activities of life cycles of autumn animals and seasonal plants.  It's my way of integrating science into the season and, at the same time be aware of the cycles of life that begin in autumn.

Here are some of the materials we have and use at home. Come take a look at these materials in action!

We worked on our rocks unit study a few weeks ago and I recorded some of our learning activities in this post. This subject area is usually for upper elementary but I created a curriculum that suits best for younger kids. If you have students/kids who show interest in rocks and rock cycle, below is a lesson plan on how to conduct a child-friendly and hands-on rock unit study.

Parts of a Leaf Study for Kids

Tuesday, September 29, 2020

Autumn is the time for our leaf study and while doing so Vito keeps calling the leaf's midrib as "stem".  Instead of correcting, I decided to give him a proper lesson on the parts of a leaf.  This is for him to know what each part is called and be able to understand how these parts function.

Learning About the Philippines

Monday, June 8, 2020

Philippines is celebrating its Independence Day this week and in line with it, I'm publishing our Philippine Country Study Learning Pack.  We worked on this last year before we went home for a vacation but I didn't get to post this in the blog.  Just like in any of our country study packs, this set contains tons of reading and writing materials and extension activities for children eager to learn and explore the Philippines.  In this learning material, the child will learn about the geography, flag, symbols, and icons of the Philippines, famous foods, and its culture and traditions.

Jerry Pallotta's Alphabet Books

Friday, May 29, 2020

Ever since my eldest was a toddler, we love reading alphabet books of plants and animals and we used to borrow them at our local library. Mavi loves associating any objects to the alphabet sound so he truly enjoys reading these books with me. Unfortunately, most of them are out of print.

Learning about the History of Telephones for Kids

Monday, February 24, 2020

One of our favorite subjects is history! I suddenly had an urge to tackle the historical timeline of the everyday objects we use daily, like money, phones, computers, etc.  This came to my mind when my eldest and I talked about the evolution of computers from gigantic machines to tablets.  Though this is more of an elementary work, I designed this resource for preschoolers, kindergartens, and early childhood learners.

In this post, I will feature the history of telephones we recently worked on (Vito asked to work on this set first).  All the printable resources featured in this post are available in our History of Telephones - Timeline and Ordering Activities.

Insect Themed Lesson Plans for Kindergarten to First Grade

Monday, August 12, 2019

We are about to conclude our INSECT UNIT which we have been working on for the past two weeks and I am so happy to finally share the lesson plan that I made for my Kindergarten.  Now, though this is designed for my almost 6 year old boy, this unit study is also appropriate for kids from 5 years and older.  We have done tons of identification and sensorial activities previously on this subject area and this year, we’re doing some advanced work.

Food and Nutrition Themed Shelf

Wednesday, June 19, 2019

Vito is currently obsessed with our Let's Read and Find Out Series.  I've started reading the level 1 series to him since April and he's hooked into it.  There are tons of books in the level 1 series that he's currently obsessed with but one book stands out, What's for Lunch.  The book introduces the basic food groups to children.  I was totally surprised about his interest in this subject area.  He's becoming curious of what he eats lately and drinking more milk than usual.

Food Pyramid and Food Groups Activities for Kids

Monday, June 17, 2019

Vito loves the book, What's for Lunch?!  He loves learning all about the food groups, on what food will help him have stronger bones and teeth, food that will give him energy, and food that will keep him healthy.  I love that he developed this interest early on.  I think that it's important to educate little ones about healthy food because right now, he's super conscious on what he eats, and he's more eager to eat fruits, drink lots of milk and water!

Food Pyramid and Food Groups Activities for Kids
Come take a look at some of the learning activities that we worked on to support his interest on food.

Friday, May 24, 2019

I'm so excited to share with you our Ancient History Learning Pack.  I made this product 4 years ago but I didn't really have the time to explain how to use this or how we are using this at home.  Let me say that I finally updated the product and there are now 2 sets available to cater to the needs of other Montessori families and schools.  This post is not a tutorial but it will explain each set in the learning pack, how we use each them and how you may benefit from them.

Introducing the 6 Kingdoms of Life

Friday, May 17, 2019

Months ago, after watching an episode of Brainchild on Netflix, the boys got super interested with knowing more about bacteria.  They have so many questions about the biodiversity of life such as, if  a bacteria is an animal or a plant? is it an alien species? The curiosity  and eagerness to learn led me to introduce the Six Kingdoms of Life.

Introducing the Six Kingdoms of Life
I know, this is elementary work, but I managed to pull-out activities that worked perfectly for both boys (10 and 5 years old).
