Playdough Mats - Fun Play and a Lifetime Access!

Friday, April 22, 2022

Do you love playdough mats? We are obviously big fans of playdough and the DIY picture mats that go along with it! Through the years of making these playdough mats for my kids (incorporated in my thematic units), I have been receiving requests from followers to produce a "just the mats" printable file. So I finally gave in to the requests and created a LIFETIME ACCESS to our playdough mats collection.

Playdough mats are so much fun!! Use these for hands-on learning and for your fine motor skills activities. Roll, cut and form the pictures on the mats using playdough and trace the words for your vocabulary skills. Use these in any of your center and thematic activities.

Saturday, August 21, 2021

Max was obsessed with these tubs at 13 months, the reason why I didn't provide him with so many toys and materials around this age.

Montessori Object Permanence Box

Friday, April 23, 2021

The object permanence box is a Montessori infant material that helps the child discover object permanence. In layman's term, the ball that disappears from view (hole) continues to exist but appears in a different place (tray). This is generally introduced around 7-12 months old babies

Spin and Trace: Alphabet Writing Game for Preschoolers

Sunday, June 24, 2018

Last month, I made these tracing and writing sheets for Vito to add some spice in his writing activities.  He loves the salt tray and Montessori sandpaper, but these sheets are so helpful as they require less preparation and no mess.  The activity sheet requires you to create a spinner using a paper clip and a pencil (or a pushpin if you have one).  Colored pencils or markers are also needed.

World Continents Activity Using Playdough

Thursday, May 17, 2018

We’ve done a lot of world continents activities for the past years but this has got to be one of the boys’ favorites!  We had so much fun forming the continents with our playdough.  This is such a lovely learning activity not just about continents but a fun way to keep those little fingers at work, promoting hand-eye coordination and concentration.

November Activities for Preschoolers

Friday, November 18, 2016

Last week, Vito refused to do any of our language activities, so we worked mostly on practical life, counting, sorting and storytelling. He also started walking to Mavi’s school (no buggy!) despite that it’s a 30 to 45 minutes walk round trip.  This lessens our time for “preschool” in the morning since we have to leave early.

Activity Trays for 33 Month Old Toddlers

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Hello everyone! We only have two more weeks before school opens so I decided to postpone Vito’s Fruits and Art Unit for the rest of the month so I can spend quality time with the boys and not think about activity preparations.  With this I’m sharing Vito’s activity trays which he started working on early this month. Vito only spends about 20 minutes for our “themed units” and the rest, he would either do free play or work on these trays.  These would entertain him while I do house chores, sometimes I supervise especially if we use glass bottles.

Transportation Unit: Water Vehicles

Friday, May 27, 2016

Vito is 30 months old.

Both of my boys were looking forward to this Transportation Unit as they love cars, trains and airplanes.  We started off by introducing Vito the water vehicles using Safari Toob In the Water  figures, a little water sensory tub and matching activity.

Milking a Cow for Toddlers

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

I never knew that this could be fun!  My Vito enjoyed this activity so much that we did this a couple of times during the day.  Even big brother Mavi joined in the fun as well, trying to outshine each other on whoever gets to finish milking first.

Bird Theme: Owl Babies Craft

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

birdthemetotschool-2458

For the Bird Theme, we are reading Owl Babies and The Story About Ping books.  Vito enjoys reading them with me but he loves Owl Babies more. So in line with it, we made some cotton owls at home to extend our learning about owls and the textures of birds.
